There are several ways that you can make money with PLR products.

1) You can buy PLR products and resell them as is to consumers.

2) You can buy PLR products, combine several of them into one package, and sell them to consumers.

3) You can buy PLR products and edit them to reflect your needs and the needs of your list, and sell them to consumers.

4) You can buy PLR products and edit them, then sell the edited version as a PLR product itself.

5) You can buy PLR products and edit them, then sell resale rights to your new product.

6) You can buy PLR products and resell them to other marketers.

This is only a partial list of what you can do with PLR products. However, that list should give you a good idea of all the different ways you can make money with PLR products.

Here is How to Do It

In this section, I am going to give you brief instructions about how to buy PLR products and use them in each of the 6 ways I just outlined.

I recommend that when you get started, you just use one of the 6 ways I have outlined, then as you grow, expand into using all 6 ways to make money online. Eventually you should be able to easily integrate all 6 ways of making money with PLR products. But it will be much easier for you to gain a handle on things and become good at making money with PLR products if you just start with one and expand as you gain experience.

Here goes:

1) You can buy PLR products and resell them as is to consumers.

This is certainly one of the easiest ways to make money with PLR products. If you are just getting started, you should only buy PLR products that come with sales pages for each of the PLR products. If you are comfortable writing sales copy, then you can buy any PLR product, whether it has a sales page or not, and just write your own sales copy.

The method for doing this is quite easy:

Buy the PLR product.

Upload the sales page to your website. You do not need a special web site for each PLR product; just create a separate page for each PLR product.

Sell all you can. Then buy another PLR product and do the same thing over again.

2) You can buy PLR products, combine several of them into one package, and sell them to consumers.

In this case, you need to be able to write sales copy. Basically what you do here is buy several different (preferably related) PLR products, package them together, and sell the package.

So do this:

Buy several PLR products.

Create a sales page for your collection of PLR products. Upload the sales page to your website.
3) You can buy PLR products and edit them to reflect your needs and the needs of your list, and sell them to consumers.

To do this, you will buy PLR products, take the source files, and edit them to reflect your own knowledge and experience, rename the product, create a PDF of your new product, and then create a sales page for your new product.

4) You can buy PLR products and edit them, then sell the edited version as a PLR product itself.

In this case, not only do you edit the PLR product, but you sell your finished product as a PLR product itself. To do this, you will need to not only create a PDF file of the product, but also a Word or text file so your customers will have a true PLR product themselves.

5) You can buy PLR products and edit them, then sell resale rights to your new product.

In this case, instead of selling the product as a rebrandable PLR product, you simply create a PDF of the product, and sell resale rights to your new product.

6) You can buy PLR products and resell them to other marketers.

In this case, you buy PLR products, and then market them just as they are to other marketers. Or you can alter them and sell the altered version to other marketers. If you alter them, you will want to create your own sales page to offer to the other marketers.

How to choose a good PLR website is always a difficult question for a web publisher as they have started to increasingly depend on Private Label Rights sites or PLR websites for their website content.

If you are a web publisher and if you are serious about the success of your web publishing business, then you need to necessarily rely on populating your website with quality content. One way of doing it is creating the content yourself. It is, indeed, a very time consuming exercise.

Having your website content written by high quality writers is another option. Even though, this option will yield unique articles and content for your website, unless you have a very deep pocket, it will work out to be a highly costly affair.

The third alternative that many of the web publishers are opting for is becoming a member of a few good PLR websites. These sites create PLR content and distributes them among its members who are allowed to use these content as their own. In other words, the members are allowed to publish these contents and claim author credit for these contents. Normally, a monthly membership fee is charged by these PLR websites from their members.

Now, the question is that what are the criteria by which you would judge the quality of these sites. You, as a member, are not getting your money's worth unless you are getting the expected quality of content and service from these sites.

1. Subscribe to their mailing list:

When you opt-in to subscribe to the mailing list of the PLR website, they normally offer a few PLR articles or a PLR product as a goodwill gesture. b) What is the content that is being offered on a monthly basis?

c) Would you have regular use for these contents?

d) How long has the PLR website been in existence?

e) Do they offer a 100% money back guarantee within a certain time period, say, if refund requested within 30 days?

f) After the initial guarantee period, what are the conditions under which they allow cancellation of memberships?

Let me give an example of a PLR membership site whose conditions of cancellation are extremely strict. If you wanted to cancel your membership, then you would be required to pay two extra months membership fees as penalty if you want to legally use the previously downloaded content. If you do not pay the two months extra fees, then you are not legally allowed to hold on to the previously downloaded content. And, the monthly fees that they were charging was also comparatively much higher than the other good quality PLR websites.

3. Check Prices:

In case they are offering PLR articles, for the purpose of comparison, you need to have a benchmark pricing.

If you engage an article writer to create a good quality article exclusively for you, then it would cost around $10 - $15 per article of 400 - 500 words length.

Since, the PLR website offers every article to around 350 - 500 members, so the per article cost should not be more than 20 - 25c per article.

Of course, the price would go up if the PLR website is also offering add-ons like sales letter, graphics for header, footer, background, etc, alongwith the main product. Or, they may also offer a package deal per month like, a full adsense website or a ebook with audio, etc. Then, the pricing would vary accordingly.

4. Tryout The PLR website:

During the 100% Money Back Guarantee period, try out all the features of the site. Understand what is being offered. Sometimes, a few of the negative aspects of the site or even certain adverse conditions may be suppressed in the sales copy. So, go through each and every aspect of the site thoroughly including terms of use, privacy statement and other conditions of use.

If you find that certain aspects of the site or certain conditions may adversely affect your business interests either in the present or in the future, then communicate your apprehensions with the PLR website owner. If you are uncomfortable about the condition even after getting a response from the site owner, then it would be better to cancel the membership immediately.

5. Understand Future Plans

From the sales copy or from the membership site once you join, clearly understand what are the short term and long terms plans the site owner has for her/his PLR website. Communicate with the site owner, if need be, and understand their business plans pertaining to that site.

This should give you a fair idea about the intentions of the site owner with regard to his/her PLR website. Is (s)he planning to grow the PLR website business? What are the new features or functionalities that (s)he is planning to introduce and within what time frame?

Although there are many ways to make money with PLR products it's the Internet Marketers that go the extra mile and distance themselves from the competition that truly make more money from the PLR products they purchase, modify and then sell for a nice profit.

Consider your standard private label rights purchaser. This marketer knows what PLR stands for (private label rights) and also realizes what can and cannot be done after purchasing a PLR product, based on what the license or rights allows. Initially, they start out strong by conducting research in order to find a great PLR product to promote. This particular product is the complete package, meaning it comes with the actual product, a sales letter, graphics and a few bonus items. With the research out of the way this marketer makes their purchase, orders a domain name, buys hosting and immediately uploads the product on to their server and gets the Paypal button all setup so sales can start rolling in, or will they?

Before you answer that question, consider this fact. It's a good bet that this individual is already ahead of most of the other people that purchased this same PLR product because the truth is nearly 80% of the people that bought this same PLR package will do nothing with it other then collect digital dust on their computer's hard drive. Knowing this fact, it is safe to assume that this online entrepreneur will indeed make some sales and perhaps recoup the amount of money they initially spent on the product but there is also a strong possibility that they won't make a single sale because they failed to take some additional steps that would almost guarantee profitability from their new PLR purchase.

Step 1: Graphics Overhaul - Personally I like to purchase complete private label rights packages and then modify them as I see fit. The first step is to always order a new set of graphics from a designer or create them yourself. This simple step will already set you apart from 90% of your competitors that purchased the same PLR package. Additionally, taking the time to perform a complete graphics overhaul affords you the opportunity to change the name of your product completely. For example instead of your product being called "Potty Training Made Simple" (the original name on the graphics that came with the PLR package) you could change the name to something like "Easy Potty Training Solutions" or "Quick and Easy Potty Training".

Step 2: Combine Similar PLR Products - Although combining 2 separate PLR products, that cover the same niche or topic can be profitable I have personally found that when you combine 3 or more products the profitability margin increases based on the perceived value by a visitor to your website. For example I might take a set of PLR videos on social bookmarking techniques and combine them with some PLR reports on social bookmaking that have come from several sources. Here's a better explanation:

PLR Product Number 1 - Set of 6 social bookmarking videos
PLR Product Number 2 - Report on social bookmarking
PLR Product Number 3 - Reports on Facebook, Stumbleupon, Yahoo Answers...etc

Although each of the three products above were all separate PLR purchases and could be sold separately, when combined they are able to form one super product that compliments itself nicely and allows you to raise your selling price from say $17 or $27 to $37 or even $47. Also there is already a built in time and cost savings because you only have to purchase 1 domain name, host 1 website and spend time promoting (sending traffic) to 1 website.

Thus far I have provided 2 simple steps that can significantly increase the ROI for your PLR product. Here are two additional profit-enhancing steps I take with the PLR I purchase and then resell:

Profit Enhancing Step 1 - Adding affiliate links throughout the report. This is a great way to increase your opportunity earnings after the initial sale. I call them opportunity earnings because the opportunities are present provided you take advantage of them. You can have links embedded in your report that lead back to an affiliate product you are promoting or to your own line of products.

Profit Enhancing Step 2 - Instead of adding in a one time offer or upsell on the download page provide a customer appreciation price - Although there is an abundance of statistics that clearly prove the sales volume increase based on utilizing a one time offer or upsell I prefer instead to provide what I have coined a "Customer Appreciation Price" or CAP for other products that I sell. What makes the CAP different from the OTO is in the fact that the CAP never expires or goes away. I keep it on my download page forever so that anytime a customer visits the download page they still have the opportunity to make a purchase. Remember that marketing adage about someone needing to see something seven times before they take action. With a OTO they don't but the CAP allows them to see the offer multiple times especially if you keep updating the download page with new materials to be downloaded on a weekly basis.

One other quick note, I don't usually modify the salesletters unless I combine 2 or more products in which case a modification of the salesletters is required. Normally I just combine all of the saleletters into one easy to read salesletter that flows nicely.

Every online businessman needs content. Whether it is meant to drive traffic to his website for PPC purposes, or whether he plans on using the same to help sell his digital products, he would need content to convey his business message.

But original content is rarely cheap. Often, online businessmen have to pay around $5 to $15 for a 400 word article. And a single article is not enough for their purposes. They need at least 20 of them to jumpstart a content site. They need at least 50 of them to combine as an eBook. The amount quickly becomes inaccessible to most online businessmen, especially those who are just starting out.

This is the reason why PLR products have become widely popular in recent months. PLR stands for private label rights, which basically means the right to alter, alienate, or otherwise dispose of the said products anyway you please.

* PLR products, if used for article marketing without changing at least 25% to 50% of their content, will be rejected by most article directories. A lot of article banks these days employ a script that weeds out similar submissions. The rejection of your PLR articles would be the least of your worries, as worse things can happen, including the outright banning of your account.

Solutions:

* Treat PLR products as the base for whatever marketing tool you have in mind. If you desire articles for web content or for article marketing purposes, use your PLR articles as basis for an improved work. Most of the information that could be conveyed is already there. You'll be able to save a lot of time on research and organizing your thoughts. Try to rewrite the pieces, and effectuate a 25% to 50% change to their content.

* You could try article wrapping as well. Pinpoint the main information of the PLR article. This should be somewhere in the middle. Often, PLR articles have information wrapped between an introduction and a conclusion. Just change the introduction as well as the conclusion, and you're good to go.

* Hire freelance writers to rewrite your PLR products. Since the base information is already there, freelance writers can charge you as low as 25% of their normal rates.

"PLR" or Private Label Right means that you can buy the production, marketing and distribution rights to products created by another person or company. You don't have to worry about the research, planning and production of these products - all you do is buy them and market them under your own brand.

Although you have lesser control over the product itself, it helps you save thousands of dollars, hedges your risk, and allows to to dominate niche markets easily. Plus, most Private Label Right products you can find on the Internet are pretty affordable too.

So how do you make money from PLR materials? How does PLR fit into your overall marketing strategy for your online business? Here are three of the most profitable ways to turn any PLR product into a viable source of residual income:

1) Create Stand-Alone Products

This is the easiest, but also the least profitable long-run solution to using PLR products. Why?

Because if the product comes with Private Label Rights, then you can rest assured that other marketers would have also purchases the PLR rights to it. Most people who buy the rights are lazy and want to "flip" the product as soon as possible without much work on their part.

If you're one of the first to secure the PLR rights to any particular product, and you can set-up a complete marketing site in record time, you can make money easily. But over time, more and more marketers will start selling the exact product, usually at a price much lower than what you're comfortable with. Therefore, as time goes by you have more competition and your product is not unique.

PLR product vendors usually impose a limit on the amount of people they sell to, as well as the "recommended" minimum selling price for all customers. Beware of those who don't set these limits, as the PLR products they sell could have already been over-marketed.

However, if you completely change the product name, inject the sales site with fresh new graphics, and add your own content to the original PLR product, you may just be able to stand apart from the rest and continue selling it as a stand-alone offer for years to come.

It sounds simple enough you might say, and of course, that title is a little cliche. PLR Profit businesses should not be to hard to setup with the right amount of planning and knowledge. With this guide it will help you avoid the pitfalls and traps and to be able to think of as many options and ideas as possible of how best to start your own PLR products profit business.

When I decided to start my PLR profit business, good setup guides were hard to find I found. Most of them didn't have all the necessary steps. Therefore I thought it best to write one. You'll find that its just mostly a basic skeleton of a setup guide, but nevertheless one that I feel will be most beneficial to you.

First of all ask yourself, is entrepreneurship the type of thing that suits me? Before investing any money, make sure you do a bit of research and decide if this is really the type of thing that you want to be involved in.

Make a pro and con list of PLR for profit business ownership, and evaluate yourself honestly. How many characteristics do you have in common with successful PLR product entrepreneurs? Do you have the necessary financial backing? Are you the type of person with marketing and management flair?

Its impossible to be the perfect business person for promoting and selling PLR products. Nobody can claim to be. But its important that you do as much as possible to educate yourself on as many weaknesses and aspects of the business that you may not be fully competent in.

These steps to starting a PLR profit business are in reasonably good order, but you may find you might do things differently for your own unique needs. As long as you get it done, that's no big deal. No doubt there will be some steps that you can skip altogether, as long as you don't skip the important "big" steps which are vital for a good PLR products business plan. Hope I haven't scared you off, if you have still decided you want to start a PLR products profit business then let's keep going!

1. Make a marketing plan study of your PLR profit business. Try and establish your typical PLR customer, your PLR product and your PLR product competitors. Who will the suppliers of your PLR product be? What will customers pay for your PLR product? How will the marketing be done? These are just a few of the questions you need to answer.

2. Write a complete business plan for your Private Label Rights company, using the information you gathered from your marketing plan. An often overlooked but vitally important step needs to include a description of your PLR product company, its goals, competitors, market, financial information, and of course, how you intend to meet your goals.

3. Secure proper financial backing. Go and see an investment advisor and work out the best way to setup credit for your PLR profit business. There are many forms of getting the proper credit needed to support your business. Make sure you read all terms and conditions.

4. What kind of business structure will your company have? Each with their own pros and cons, there are different forms of structure, including company and sole proprietorship. So do a bit of research and work out which one is best for your situation.

5. If you are going down the path of the Internet, choose a name for your company and check on domain name availability. Naming your company is highly individual, but it's the first thing associated with your business, so choose your domain name carefully. Check if your domain name has been taken already. You might also want to consider registering similar domain names to avoid other competitors capitalising on your great name idea.

6. Decide whether you want to register as a company or a sole trader. If you register as one or the other or both, there are different costs involved. You don't have to have a lawyer process them for you, but it might be a good idea to at least consult with a professional about this matter.

7. Make a list of expenses that you may incur with your business and see if you can do some things cheaper than others, but also make sure that you don't compromise the quality of service or products that you are providing online to your customers. Remember most importantly in the initial stages of creating your business, you will need to keep expenses to a minimum until you establish yourself on your feet.

8. Develop the marketing materials you decided on in your business plan. First of all more than likely you have chosen to market your PLR products online so you will need a professional looking website. You may also need to develop blogs and introductory statements outlining what your business is all about, as you submit them to advertising websites and also putting various documents written by yourself into autoresponders etc. This part of your business should look very slick and eye catching so make sure you spend some time developing this whole area.

9. Your accounting system and business bank account will need to be set up. Evidence of good book keeping will need to be seen regularly by your accountant and banking services representative. This will be easy to master on a computer with accounting and book keeping software.

10. Now is the best time to contact your creditors and set up the terms with them. You would have researched this in the beginning in the initial planning stages. Its time to act on this now.

Now that you have read all 6 steps, you might feel overwhelmed, especially if you have never written sales copy or cannot fathom editing a product to personalize it.

That's OK. If you are a beginner, start with method 1. Just be sure and buy PLR products that contain a sales page. Then you don't have to write any sales copy, nor do you have to make any changes to the PLR product itself.

Once you get a handle on that, you can actually jump to method 6, because the only difference there is the target market - other marketers. You can easily use the prewritten sales page included with the PLR product.

Once you get comfortable with those two methods, one by one you can begin to learn the necessary skills to implement methods 2 through 5.

But don't let your lack of knowledge or experience stop you from getting started making money with PLR products.

Like I said earlier, the reason I am giving you this information is so that you can begin to build your own internet marketing business, and in the process, purchase your PLR products directly from me.

So what do you do next?

1) Choose a method.

2) Buy PLR products that fit your chosen method.

3) Start making money online with PLR products.

Another note: Once you begin making money with PLR products, when you see a new PLR product that you like, go ahead and buy it, even if you aren't going to use it right away. Create a folder on your computer just for PLR products, and keep it organized. When you are looking for a PLR product to use, you just go to that folder and choose one. I probably have over 200 different PLR products on my computer, so when I need something new to promote, I simply search through my files of PLR products I have already purchased.

What does all this mean to you?

Well, it depends really on what you do with it.

Do you see the logic in making money with PLR products? If you don't, put this down for now, and pick it up again in a day or two and reread it. It might make more sense then.

If you do, get started. I have made money on every PLR product I have ever promoted. Can I guarantee you will? No. But I can tell you this: If you buy a package of 10 PLR products for $37, for example, your average cost is $3.70, right? Now, if you packaged each one individually and sold them for $10 each, you would make a $6.30 profit each time someone purchased one, right? What if you only sold 10 of each of the 10 products, at a profit of $6.30 each? Your profit would be $630, right?

Obviously, the money will be different depending on how much you pay and how much you sell the PLR products for, and how many you sell.

So do your own numbers, then make a decision. But I can tell you this confidently, if you do nothing, you will make nothing. How much money do you want to make?
